ABOUT ME
Almost every aspect of our lives involves being social within our society. The reasons we believe one statement is a “norm” while others “abnormal,” is socially constructed. Therefore, I, Marimar Melendez, unapologetically do not want to be apart of this “norm” because it does not speak for thousands of oppressed human beings. This has inclined me to change the perspective, the conversation, the inaccuracies, and negative portrayals throughout media through furthering my education in Media Research. Whether you see the problem or not, join me in my journey so that the mentally ill, racially oppressed, disabled, women, the LGBQT community and so many more can find their voice.
